A special visitor

As I was thinking about what to write for this post, a helicopter flew over our campsite really low. The helicopter blades produced an intense noise. These things surprise me every time. I would love to fly in one some day. However much I like flying machines, I was also trying to get my son to sleep, and this thing wasn’t helping. From the roof side windows of our camper roof bed I could see the helicopter lowering very close by. I think it was a rescue helicopter, which makes me wonder what happened. We’re close to the mountains, and I think helicopters generally don’t indicate something positive… It stayed down for a couple of minutes and the calm and quiet returned. Unfortunately not enough time to get my son to sleep. A few minutes later, the roaring sound returned, and the helicopter hovered about one hundred meters away. Or maybe two. Close enough to make my son sit upright and scream out ‘hellycoppa’. I don’t think he has ever seen a real helicopter before. I was slightly worried that this was going to be a long evening. Luckily, he soon rested his head on his dinosaur pillow, and just as I opened the app to start writing, I hears a second, much more gentle roar right beside me. The little boy is fast asleep. It was a long and exciting day. A special visitor came to see him on the campgrounds.
