What was the last live performance you saw?
Bad Bunny – July 2019. (So what?! I liked it!)
I love live performances of all kinds. It’s one of the things I’ve missed most during the pandemic. Festivals. Concerts. I’m aware that they are again taking place. It’s just that, well, I don’t think it’s such a great idea to be in a closed venue with thousands of others for an hour or so of music. For me it’s a risk I’m not willing to take. I hated having covid. I hated seeing my kids be flimsy for a long time. I hated the aftermath of neverending sickness and pinkeye in them. I’ll do what I can to avoid excess contacts and unnecessary hanging out with hundreds of people I don’t see any benefit having around me. I’ll avoid concerts for a little while longer.
I’m not ready yet.
I would consider going to outdoor festivals, if they’re organized with enough space.
Unfortunately, there are awfully few nice festivals in my area it seems. This is certainly something I miss about my home country. In the Netherlands there’s a festival in every week in every corner. And they’re good at it. Good music. Good vibes. The whole package.
And I went through pretty much all of them between my 15th and 30th, as I volunteered at many festivals, and saw all the bands. Literally. All of them. I stocked up for a couple of years, so that even if I skip concerts for a decade, I will probably still have seen more than most.
But yes. I do miss that a lot.
Maybe some day?
