Am I really that boring?

Every evening before going to bed, my son and I have about half an hour of father-son time on the couch, while mommy is bringing baby sister to bed. We spend this time reading a book, playing around with some cars, or lately, he’s keenwon watching funny dancing and animal videos. All fun.

Lately, there has been a bit or a shift in his life. It seems he’s ditching the afternoon naps, and in return no longer protests when it’s 7pm and I announce that it’s bed time. Instead, this week he walked out on me a couple of times…

Today, he fell asleep sitting/hanging next to me. I only noticed because he started snoring… Now that’s a new development. He never falls asleep on the couch.

I still had to change him to his bedtime outfit on and put a diaper on (he’s not wearing them during day, but nights are 50-50 odds of a soaked bed at this point). Through all of this, he did not wake up…

Now I must have bored him a lot, because this has never – not ever! – happened in his life time.

But to be honest, I kinda like it… You know how easy and quick it is to bring a sleeping child to bed? You just have to lay him down. Done. Let’s see if he sticks with this, wouldn’t that be great? It would create so much free time – I wouldn’t know what to do with it.
