An absolutely miserable, yet productive day

My booster vaccination really kicked in today. General feeling of ‘not chill’ all day, combined with an intense headache. I even almost vomited, but I resisted. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s vomiting. Perhaps it’s the dumb thing to do. Perhaps, the release would have made me feel better, but just the taste of the stomach juices bubbling up was more than enough for me. I don’t need more vomit in my life (my kids vomit a lot these days, and that’ll do).

Although towards the end of the day my headache really interfered with my productivity, I managed to finish about three-quarters of the discussion section of my latest data paper (buzzwords: light pollution, plants, insects). I guess if I give it my best for another day, it’ll be ready to send to co-authors, hopefully next week. At about 3pm I gave up on screen time. Enough staring at words. My head was spinning, and the throbbing headache was too much.

As I wrote a good thousand high-quality words already today, I think I should limit any further screen time, grab a cup of tea, and call it a day. It’s weekend! Have a good one.
