Some days are better than others

Some days are better than others. This is also very true if you write daily blog posts. On many days, something will come to you at some point in the day, and if it is worth it, you will remember it (or equally often you won’t). On other days, you know what you want to write about, but it may result in something utterly uninteresting to read.

On days like today, however, my house feels like it is 35 degrees centigrade (this might be because it is), and I just want to soak myself in a bath tub filled with ice cubes. I’m literally sitting here in my underwear because who needs clothes with this weather. (I know, too much information, but it is what it is) My laptop is sticking to my sweaty lap, while its fan is working overhours to get rid of the hot air, which provides a gentle air flow, albeit a bit warm to my taste. Conditions are not optimal for writing. I just don’t want to.

Some days are just not for writing. They are made to sit along a swimming pool with a cold drink. But a day without writing is, well, exactly just that, a day without writing. It would also be an eye sore that would forever bother me. The insights tab on my wordpress account indicates nice dark blue squares for every day I have posted, and mixing that nice uniform series up with a single grey one by missing a post due to laziness has by now become unacceptable.

On days like this, when everything is seemingly against you writing that post, it is extra important that you still churn one out. Keep the momentum!
