Frühlingszeit!

Today spring began in Bavaria. It is hard to believe that we had temperatures far below zero only one week ago. Temperatures hit the 20 degrees Celsius today in direct sunlight and at 5 PM our car temperature sensor still indicated 15 degrees.

I have complained before about the lack of activity we experience during lockdown. We do regularly go outside of course, but usually we bring our son, who can only walk since two months. He’s doing great, but obviously does not walk marathons, yet. His speed could potentially be alright – he likes to run a bit – were it not that he stops every five meters to say that there is another car parked along the road (and another one). Or a tree grows in this or that garden. Slow walking and lots of waiting in subzero temperatures without sun make you cool down and want to go inside really quickly!

Today, with the return of sun and lovely temperatures, our lack of activity ended. We used it to its fullest. We parked at some random parking lot near hills. Kiddo in the kiddo backpack and go. The Bavarian hills and mountains looked amazing today.

Vitamin D boost: Check!

The first Hepatica nobilis were peaking through the leaf litter on the forest floor. Always a good sign.
